Yukon Digital Storytelling Project
Tourism & Digital Media Initiative
Traolach conceived and pitched this web-series initiative to the creative agency Outside The Cube for their client Travel Yukon. The idea was to engage and contract local Yukon filmmaking talent to create content for Travel Yukon that would inspre travelers to visit the territory. In November 2015, the initiative won the 2015 Explore Canada Award of Excellence in the category of Most Innovative PR Campaign. The initiative is now in its second year and is available to watch on Travel Yukon’s Tumblr site travelyukon.tumblr.com
Yukon Quest 2015
As part of his role as an official photographer on the 2015 Yukon Quest, Traolach was required to shoot, edit and upload videos as quickly as possible to the race's social media sites (Facebook, Twitter and YouTube). Due to limited equipment and remote locations offering little in the way of high speed internet, the content was captured and delivered at low resolution. The stories helped the audience following the race online to get an insight into what it's like to be a part of it.
Au Coeur du Yukon
GrandBoy conceived the digital media strategy for the video content in conjunction with the TV series Au Coeur du Yukon. The idea was to create a series of internet-friendly vignettes that would target a cross-section of the show's target audience. Traolach wrote, directed and edited the vignettes that were then were marketed online in order to find and build an audience for the TV series. The complete collection of vignettes are available to view on YouTube.
